Amousement is the audiovisual and breakcore project of Marcello Ruggiu, an Italian electronic musician, AV performer, DJ, visual artist, and Ableton Certified Trainer based in London.

Primarily known for his breakcore DJ sets and high-intensity audiovisual performances, Amousement blends breakcore, IDM, experimental drum & bass, glitch, neurofunk, and abstract electronic music into immersive experiences where sound and visuals become a single evolving organism.

His performances combine rapid-fire breakbeats, intricate rhythmic programming, distorted textures, melancholic atmospheres, and unpredictable sonic structures, drawing inspiration from artists such as Venetian Snares, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, Ruby My Dear, Richard Devine, Culprate, and the wider experimental electronic underground.

Beyond conventional DJ culture, Amousement develops custom audiovisual shows where reactive visuals, generative imagery, and digital art are synchronized with the music, transforming each performance into a unique sensory experience. The result is a collision between rave energy, experimental composition, and contemporary digital art.

Alongside his artistic career, Marcello has spent more than a decade teaching music production, sound design, synthesis, and creative technologies at universities and specialist institutions, bringing together academic knowledge and underground electronic culture.

Whether performing in clubs, festivals, warehouses, galleries, or experimental art spaces, Amousement explores the outer edges of rhythm, technology, and perception through intense breakcore-driven audiovisual journeys.
